You might be able to spook yourself this Halloween by watching live ghost hunting on cable television, but you may have to do it without Jay and Grant.

Last week, SyFy notably pulled all references to the live “Ghost Hunters” Halloween show this year on their site, leaving fans wondering if the annual hunt for ghouls is even going to go down. Singer Meat Loaf was rumored to have been the guest investigator this year, and as always, the team was going to pick one lucky fan to join them on the case. Ghost Hunters International member, Dustin Pari, also let the cat out of the bag on Twitter, confirming that the event is canceled (as of this past week). Many speculate that this may be the network caving under the pressure of critics accusing the film crew of staging some of the evidence on last year’s live Halloween show.

But hold the press!

References to the “Ghost Hunters” Halloween show have slowly crept back on to the SyFy site with a new poll, asking viewers what questions they would like Jay and Grant to answer live on the air this Halloween. So what exactly is going on here?

News from the Travel Channel is provoking fans to ask themselves if it really even matters. “Ghost Adventures,” another paranormal spirit-hunting reality show, is set to film a live seven-hour investigation at a run down asylum on Halloween for the first time in its short television history.

Zak Bagans, the lead investigator, has acquired a following with his on-cam adrenaline rushes and determination to scare himself (and viewers) silly. With the “Ghost Hunters” Halloween special up in the air, it may be just what “Ghost Adventures” needs to finally come out on top.

So what you will you be watching this Halloween?

Personally, I hope SyFy gets their act together and puts on a great live “Ghost Hunters” show. As a long-time fan of Jay and Grant, I have a hard time believing that they fudged any of last year’s Halloween episode, or any episodes for that matter. But whether this is a reason for the abrupt cancellation or not, I think fans will be deeply offended and hurt by the fact that SyFy decides to pull it this close to the 31st. “Ghost Adventures” has always been a little too eccentric for me (Bagans, in particular), but the location they are visiting on Halloween may just be enough to make me watch at least a portion of the seven hours. No telling how much that portion will be, though.

What ever you end up watching, or doing, this Halloween, happy ghost hunting!

I believe Zak will do just fine, he is a great investigator. I hope this is what they need to pull out on top!

I was just at a personal appearence for Mssrs, Hawes and Wilson who stated that THEY declined the Halloween live show this year in order to spend time with their children and families on Halloween. I am guessing before their kids get too old for Trick-or-Treating and enjoying the child friendly aspects of this American Holiday, the two TAPS founders would like to be home as Dads and share personal family time with the kids.

My Son Loved it for Halloween

We ordered this for my son as his Halloween costume since he had been talking about going as an astronaut since we went to the Air and Space Museum in DC this past summer. It came a day or 2 before the scheduled delivery date, and it also arrived in perfect condition. He loved it , so we loved it.
